The 17 Tools I run My Business With

Canva

If you have seen my stuff on Instagram, all my carousels are made with Canva.com. Easy to use, beautiful templates, and completely free to use

Airtable

This is where my catalog lives. Basically an excel sheet on steroids. There are even addons to build apps from a simple Airtable database

Google Workspace

Pretty self-explanatory. I love the shareability, that it is free to use, and my favorite is the Forms app.

Slack

All my team communication runs on Slack. For my upcoming 6-week workshop, Production Music Composer Academy, I will also host the group chat on Slack. Wonderful tool, and also Free.

Mailtrack

Sometimes I just need to know when someone opens an email. Just out of curiosity.

I also love the reminder function, when someone didn’t read your email. That way you can follow up just in time

Squarespace

All my websites run on Squarespace. Very easy to use, ( I built my existing Composer website in 2 hours), The usability and features by far exceed the price. It’s an investment so I can go back to composing much quicker and don’t need a Coder to do the heavy lifting for me.

Convertkit

All my email list stuff is on Convertkit. Awesome, bootstrapped company, with lots of resources and workshops all around helping creators of all kinds with setting up an online business with email.

Notion

I love the versatility of Notion. My company runs on Notion for Podcasts, blog content, my track feedback for you guys is made with Notion. You can do almost anything with it and there are great third-party geeks out there that have lots of great add-on code for some pretty cool stuff on how to use Notion.

WeTransfer

Sending big files with WeTreansfer is a breeze. And I love that it is all web-based, easy to use, and very straightforward.

Reelcrafter

The best tool out there if you wanna impress your producers, directors, and of course Labels and Publishers. Easy handling, and beautiful standalone reels.

Basecamp

I use this mostly in my classroom when I teach at the conservatory. But it’s a great tool if you want to track your projects. Also an awesome company with amazing books about work culture.

Zoom

Almost famous tool for video conferencing. I use it to teach, to coach, or just to chat with friends. Works well and I have yet to find another, better tool.

Unsplash

Amazing, “non-stock” photos and images. You’ll find a picture for almost any topic. My go-to

Instagram

I love to hang out on IG. It’s a fun platform and also love it for marketing.

Trello

Many of my publishers use Trello for the briefings and general progress tracking on albums they producing. It’s a bit like the grandfather of PM tools, but it works quite well.

pCloud

Recently I made the switch from Dropbox to pCloud. Almost the same service, but they don’t read or can see my data. Love it. And it’s in Switzerland.

iA Writer

Another Swiss company. For longer-form essays or for writing my book I use this tool. No distraction, very simple, and everything I write is saved to the cloud automatically so I don’t lose any of my precious thoughts
